04. CHENNAI
Heduš with reports from Chennaie
We arrived Chennaie is a great city, which has 6 million inhabitants. Most of these people live in shanty towns or slums along the river, which flows in Chennai in the sea. As soon as we entered the town we stood around a large two-hour traffic.
People like to talk with us, looked into the car and kept saying that we welcome in India. It is very nice! I can not imagine that when the Indian comes to us, so we welcome him at the intersection when the red. It hardly!
We are hard procpali heavy traffic to the port, where we assume an office of transport companies, which would allow us to ship our car across the sea to Singapore. It was Saturday evening, we found a spot to sleep right in the harbor and went to Hayat.
The night was a little battle with the mosquitoes, but they have matured with mosquito net and spinkali as angels. On Sunday we omrkli town and the local beach, really cool beach! In mid Chennaie the river empties into the sea …. or rather canal lined with slums (straw hut where the poorest live). The river smells so that we have the next days, depending on orientation of stink. The beach is used by the local mall, but it is also going to the toilet, so you must take great care that you’re stepping on a mine, in which sand is not much to see.
We spent the night in the harbor again. In the morning the fight began! We had to get the transportation company and I look at the price of transport. It ranges from 800 to 1200 USD, so the whole day we rode around town and bargained.
On Tuesday we had arranged a business deal that started everything. Execution of documents took three days. During these days we visited the local police headquarters for some confirmation. There we met a cop who worked as Deputy High Commissioner. We were very surprised by an invitation to dinner at her house, but with all due respect, I accept it. I love the visits do not go, but it could not refuse. Late in the evening we ate with her whole family at the table. Two maids served us, and we dined like kings. It was time to leave, so we wanted to say goodbye and leave, but the landlady does not permit. Well, nothing else than to accept the offer and spend the night.
In the morning we got up and continued processing of all documents required for carriage of the car. During the day we found a small, budget hotel, because we needed to wash and wash the car before being loaded into the container. Before the hotel parking lot, which are very handy. We parked the car used to transport local rickshaws. It’s more comfortable than get screwed in the local operation with a car. We found the KFC, too, we have diversified our menu. Well we’ve been here almost like home, but only almost.
Now is the day D! We loaded our car washed and prepared in a container last looked at it and went rickshaw to the hotel. Along the way we had all sorts of ideas. What if the boat sinks or they fall off the container crane? Well done the crime. In the hotel we took the packs ready and go to the airport. At two o’clock in the morning we flew with Air India to Singapore.
The airport was a bit of stress because our flight was delayed and on the notice board and there was nothing we thought we flew away. Everything went well and we sat in the plane, and finally headed towards Singapore. On the plane we were the only foreigners. Next to me sat a young Indian who slept so soundly that he did not raise or hostess snack-spreading. That would be me not so bad, but slid his head on my shoulder and slept on. I was beginning to be very nervous! I gave him a slight elbow in the ribs. Nothing much is done with it and let the saliva on the shirt, turned to the streets and slept on …
Three hours later we land at big airports in Singapore …….. So it again next time. All the greetings and good snow and skiing, which we will not enjoy too much here.
